The Mugdown uses proceeds from “Corps of Cadets: The Musical” to award Aggie Rings annually

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 10/25/2016

COLLEGE STATION, October 25, 2016  —  The Mugdown announced today that proceeds from Corps of Cadets: The Musical have established The Mugdown Endowed Aggie Ring Scholarship through the Texas A&M Association of Former Students. With a gift of $25,000, the endowment will provide the funding necessary to award an eligible student veteran an Aggie Ring each year.

Box office and merchandise sales for Corps of Cadets: The Musical raised over $34,000 for veterans causes, being used to establish the endowment and provide a sizable gift to the Lone Survivor Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to “restore, empower, and renew hope for our wounded warriors and their families through health, wellness, and therapeutic support.”

The musical was written and directed by senior cadet Rob Bannon ‘16 and produced by The Mugdown for two showings on May 1st, 2016. Cadet Bannon graduates in May 2016 and will serve as a second lieutenant in the United States Army.

The Mugdown Endowed Aggie Ring Scholarship will award its first Aggie Ring in fall 2017.
